María Arango (Marea) starts her journey trough music shortly after finishing high school back in 2006, when she travels to Barcelona to take dj lessons at microFusa, where she also did after a basic sound technician course. In 2008, María comes back to Colombia and starts playing under the aka María in Manizales and Medellín, where she studied photography. Between 2012-2015, Maria takes a break to travel the seas working as a photographer and while she was visiting home, she had the opportunity to play a couple of times in Billares Londres Gaylord parties in Bogotá.

In 2016, she comes back to Medellín where she founded NÓTT (feminist collective and data base) with her colleagues Andrea Arias and Julianna. Last year NÓTT was chosen to do the second edition of Boiler Room Off Camera events (NÓTT x Boiler Room) where she played alongside Peru’s Orieta Chrem, Andrea Arias and Feralucia. Back in Medellín Marea goes back to school to study Arts in UDEA university, where she is building a career based in AV and sound arts. Her development in electronic music production has been mixed experimenting with sound design, sound art and electronic dance music composition. In these lasts years, Marea had shared decks with artists like Rebolledo, Troy Pierce, Erika y Demian Licht and had played in different Colombian cities like Bogotá, Manizales, Pereira and Medellín where she actually lives.
